LISA Pathfinder - the quietest place in the solar system
About the clips
LISA Pathfinder will pave the way for the eLISA mission by testing in space the ideas and technology for gravitational wave detection. LISA Pathfinder will place two test masses in a nearly perfect gravitational free-fall. It will control and measure their relative motion with unprecedented accuracy. To do this LPF must be the quietest place in the solar system!
LISA Pathfinder was launched on December 3, 2015. It arrived at its destination on January 22, 2016 and began its science mission on March 8, 2016.
